2002 Poverty and Income Update

2002 Poverty and Income Update

Starting in the 1990s, the U.S. Census Bureau began providing more current estimates of poverty and median household income. Before this time, county data were only available every ten years from each decennial census. These data are generated by the Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates (SAIPE) program and are produced every few years.
