COVID-19 At Risk
As we continue to learn about COVID-19, some individuals are at higher risk of experiencing severe illness, including older adults and people of any age who have underlying medical conditions.
The “COVID-19 At Risk” issue of Kentucky: By The Numbers provides each county in the state with data on their county’s population, estimates of the distribution of different health conditions such as diabetes, characteristics of the aging population including grandparents living with and responsible for grandchildren and those living alone, and the total number of nursing homes, personal care homes, and assisted living facilities.
In addition to county data, there is a separate issue with state-level data. Since county level data are not available for every underlying condition, the reverse side includes a summary of the CDC’s guidance regarding people at higher risk for severe illness.
