2017 Census of Agriculture

In Kentucky, there were 493 Black or African American principal producers in 2017 on 401 farms comprising 39,654 acres (up from 31,483 acres in 2012).  For principal producers who are Hispanic, Latino, or Spanish Origin, the numbers are slightly higher.  In 2017 there were 593 Hispanic, Latino, or Spanish Origin principal producers on 526 farms comprising 57,452 acres (up from 49,143 acres in 2012).  For principal producers reporting more than one race, there were 428 principal producers on 391 farms comprising 40,283 acres (up from 29,064 acres in 2012).
