Population projections are calculated based on the assumption that past trends will continue into the future. After reviewing recent population trends, in 2016 the Kentucky State Data Center revised its projections.

Using current population estimates and recent trends in mortality, fertility, and migration, the Kentucky State Data Center issued a new set of population projections called “Vintage 2016.”
