Housing 2010

Housing 2010

Every 10 years, the Decennial Census counts every resident in the United States. In addition to asking how many people live in a particular housing unit, since 1890, questions on home ownership have also been a part of the Census.

Housing units are defined as “a house, apartment, mobile home or trailer, group of rooms or a single room occupied as separate living quarters.” Since the previous Census conducted in 2000, the number of housing units in Kentucky grew by 10.1%, adding 176,237 housing units across the state.
